These circles have been painted over the last 9 years. The canvases range
in size from 50 cm to 180 cm and can be hung in many positions. They are both
spontaneous and highly considered, yet free from the bonds of material reality. Often
the circles are turned in the process of applying the oil paint, exposing the work to
continuous movement which allows various rhythms to appear. They accelerate,
then become still, giving freedom to the pace of the structure. The mood
of the paintings are expressed within the detailed layering
of colour, separating us from the conscious mind
